"No Fixture organisation - No points - Just friendly regular Hockey"

At Camberley and Farnborough Hockey Club we run one social team (The Owls) and every year arranging fixtures is becoming increasingly difficult. Traditional fixtures are being eroded and the emergency fixtures bureau has closed.

Is there a way of guaranteeing a full season of friendly fixtures? We know there is.

Along with like-minded clubs, we have set up a friendly ‘league’, which takes the grind out of fixture organisation. There are no points, no need to phone in results, no league positions, just friendly, regular, guaranteed hockey …... and socialising.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to register the interest of your team and join us.

How is the ‘Friendly League’ run ?
- By an Organising Committee compiling of a representative of 3 member clubs.
- Fixtures issued by end of July before season start.
- Annual contact list also issued with names, phone numbers, e-mail address, ground addresses, club - colours etc to ease organisation.
- Teams play each other Home and Away each season. If more than 12 teams you will play some teams only once. This is rotated.
- The team representatives contact each other 2 weeks before the fixture to confirm arrangements.
- Where possible, umpire to be provided from each side. (official or player)
- What if we are short ?. Should we cancel ?. …..ring the opposition and see if the sides can be evened out. Playing is the name of the game.

You join, we send you the fixtures, you organize the time and place with each team, that’s that.
