Camberley and Farnborough Hockey Club are a vibrant community club that has c.300 members taking part as Adult, Colts, Veterans, Back to Hockey players, and non-playing members helping with coordination and management.
The club, originally just Camberley Hockey Club, was formed back in the 1950’s, and used to play home games at London Road. Various incarnations of the club played through the next several decades, in various locations around Camberley, including Owlsmoor, Frogmore and Camberley Cricket Club.
In 2002, Camberley merged with local rivals Farnborough Hockey Club and took on an extra two men’s and one ladies team.
This led to the club being the biggest it had been in 2003/2004, with five men’s teams and three ladies teams, playing across Surrey, Hants and the South West London area.
The club is well known for its junior section, with teams from Under 8’s through to Under 18’s, with a devoted band of coaches and managers. The club relies on the junior section for a constant supply of up and coming players, with many adult players playing today currently having started their hockey career with the Colts.
Currently, the Club has 4 Mens league teams (competing in the Surrey & Hampshire leagues), 3 Ladies league teams & one veterans side (The Owls). We use the state-of-the-art new ‘TigerTurf’ all-weather pitch at King’s International College, Camberley and use the facilities at Camberley Cricket Club for after match entertainment, hospitality and social events.
One of the main highlights of the season is the annual Dinner Dance, where the seasons achievements are either celebrated or commiserated! Held at various local locations it sees a huge turnout for the club.
