Camberley and Farnborough Hockey Club – COVID-19 Arrangements

This Guidance applies to members of C and F HC Club AND all visitors from other clubs to the pitch for matches

Please read the following information below which outlines the procedures which we have put in place at our pitch.

Access & Arrival

  • Participation Agreement – Anyone wanting to be involved in hockey must sign an England Hockey Participation Agreement before they play (this only needs to be done once), where they agree to the terms and conditions and Code of Ethics and Behaviours. They can sign up here.
  • Arrive as close as possible to the time you need to be there. Please do not enter the playing area until the previous session has exited the playing area. 
  • Teams are unable to meet for extended times prior to their match time due to the Government restrictions of groups of more than 6 meeting together which was re-imposed on Monday 14th September.
  • Please note that the entrance and exit gates have been swapped over.  Please enter via the gate at the right hand end of the pitch.
  • Check in by scanning the QR code next to the pitch for Track and Trace purposes. This is for ALL people who enter the pitch.  The information will be sent to EH who will hold the attendance data for 21 days
  • Club members may also check in via the Teamo app (Select the event you are attending and click on ‘Check In’). 
  • The check in process also asks the user to declare that they are symptom free and accept any risk posed by attending the session.
  • Allow others to leave before you enter the pitch – if you need to wait then do so away from the pitch and clear of the gates. Follow one-way systems where they are in place.
  • Hand sanitisers should be available for use as you arrive at the pitch
  • The school site is a dog and smoking free site.  

Prior to the Session

  • All players, officials, volunteers, and spectators must undergo a self-assessment for any Covid-19 symptoms.  No-one should leave home to participate in any form of hockey if the, or someone they live with, has any of the following:
  • A high temperature (above 37.8°C)
  • A new, continuous cough
  • A loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste
  • Attendees are asked to come dressed ready for the session with the appropriate personal protection as defined by England Hockey
  • Attendees must bring their own water bottles; it will not be possible to refill these on site.
  • Attendees are asked to bring their own hand sanitiser
  • Any personal protection equipment (shin pads, gumshields, face masks for defensive corners) is the responsibility of the player and MUST NOT be shared with others.  This equipment should be kept on your person, where possible.
  • Dug Outs are not to be used.

During the session/fixtures

  • All players must sanitise their hands before entering and leaving the astro
  • Pre-match and post-match handshakes will not happen
  • The training hub cannot be used for team talk prior to, or after matches for team talks.
  • Team talks can take place, if social distancing (2 metres) is observed and they are held outdoors.
  • Team warmups/cool-downs should always observe social distancing
  • Coaches and substitutes are allowed by the side of the pitch but must also always observe social distancing on the side lines.
  • No spitting allowed.  This is a cardable offence
  • FIXTURES ONLY – A maximum of 16 players plus up to 2 coaches/managers up to 20 people in total plus an umpire per team
  • Changing rooms are not to be used except for toilet access
  • Match preparation meetings by umpires should be held outside.
  • Social distancing must also be observed during interactions when a substitution is being made or during breaks in play
  • Goal celebrations should be avoided, and players should avoid shouting on the pitch where possible.
  • Interactions with the umpires should only happed with the players/coaches observing social distancing
  • No spectators will be allowed on the astro and those watching from the hard-standing area must observe the Governments social distancing rules.
  • Anyone administering First Aid is advised to wash and/or sanitise their hands after treatment and record name, date and treatment provided for the NHS track and trace process.

Spectators

  • In accordance with National Governing Body and Government guidelines, spectators will be only allowed to attend Junior coaching sessions for safeguarding reasons, and we ask that only 1 parent or guardian per family in attendance spectate sessions.
  • Spectators to remain socially distanced (2 metres apart) whilst attending sessions and as per government guidance
  • Spectators MUST register their attendance via the Teamo QR code at the pitch

After Playing

  • Ensure you leave the pitch and the surrounding hard standing areas as soon as possible after training/fixture so that the space is empty for the next players.
  • Leave the pitch via the displayed exit route
  • Do not congregate after playing and stay in groups of a maximum of 6, following social distancing rules, outside of play.
  • Anyway who has attended a session and develops COVID-19 symptoms, must inform the COVID Officer (jsec@candfhockey.co.uk) and their Captain/Coach as soon as possible in writing.
  • Any equipment used (bibs, training equipment, balls etc) is the responsibility of the Captain/Coach in charge of the session and cleaning protocols must be followed (i.e. clean straight away or leave for 72 hours after use).

Away Games

  • It is the responsibility of the Captain/Coach to ensure they have been in touch with the opposition and umpires (where appropriate) for away games and that full correspondence regarding the away teams COVID-19 procedures has  been received prior to attending the game.
  • All information regarding COVID-19 procedures must be shared with those in attendance at the session and must be abided by.

These guidelines will be reviewed as required by the Camberley and Farnborough Executive Committee along with the Club COVID Officer as and when required.
